What does ISO 27001:2022 certification actually mean for my data?
ISO 27001:2022 is the international standard for information security management systems. It certifies that Symsafe has implemented, documented, and is annually audited against 93 specific controls covering access management, encryption, supplier risk, incident response, and physical security. In practical terms: your data is handled by processes that an independent, JAS-ANZ-accredited auditor has verified meet a globally recognised bar.
What is penetration testing, and how often should we do it?
Penetration testing is an authorised, simulated attack on your systems to identify exploitable vulnerabilities before a real attacker does. For most Australian SMBs the right baseline is recurring vulnerability scanning (external attack surface and authenticated internal hosts) with a manual penetration test scoped through a certified partner when the situation genuinely calls for it — a regulator request, M&A diligence, or a novel application launch. Symsafe runs the scanning and triage in-house and co-ordinates partner pen tests when they’re needed.
Do you work with businesses outside Sydney?
Yes. Symsafe’s head office is in Sydney, with coverage across Brisbane, Melbourne, Auckland and Singapore, plus an internal operations centre in India. Our service desk is 24/7 and most management is delivered remotely. For clients in our metro footprint we provide on-site response within agreed SLAs; outside it we partner with vetted local technicians. Clients with multiple sites run under a single managed-services contract: one account team, one quarterly review, one invoice.
How quickly can we onboard?
Standard onboarding takes 2–4 weeks depending on environment complexity. Week one is discovery and documentation; week two is tooling deployment and baseline-securing; weeks three and four are knowledge transfer with your incumbent provider (if applicable) and go-live. We’ve onboarded businesses in as little as 8 days when the situation demands it.
