What buyers ask before signing.

Can you procure our M365 licensing for us?

Yes. We’re a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider, so we can transact your M365 (and Dynamics 365) licensing directly. The more useful part is what we do with it: every managed-services client gets a quarterly licensing review where we right-size the mix. The trap most businesses fall into is over-licensing: paying for E5 features no one uses, or leaving leavers on the bill for months. We model the actual usage against the entitlement and recommend up- or down-shifts, including F-plan licences for frontline staff where they fit. The honest limitation: if your existing licensing is locked into an enterprise agreement with another partner, we’ll work with whoever holds the agreement until renewal rather than force a partner-of-record change for its own sake.

Is Microsoft 365 backup included?

Microsoft does not back up your tenant in the way most people assume. The shared-responsibility model puts service availability on Microsoft and data protection on you. Native retention is limited — recycle-bin windows, audit-log windows, and version history are not a backup strategy when a user is compromised, a mailbox is emptied, or a SharePoint site is wiped by an authorised account. Third-party backup of Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams is essential, and we either include it in the Secure MSA plan or recommend a tool that fits your retention obligations. The honest limitation: backup is only as good as the restore. We run periodic restore drills on managed tenants so the tool isn’t tested for the first time during an incident.

What security baseline do you apply to a tenant?

A baseline modelled on the Essential Eight and Microsoft’s recommended secure-score posture, tuned per tenant. The non-negotiables: phishing-resistant MFA on every privileged account, Conditional Access policies enforcing compliant devices and blocking legacy authentication, audit logging enabled and retained, DLP policies on the sensitive workloads, and SharePoint/OneDrive sharing restricted to the minimum your business needs. Where licensing allows, we layer on Defender for Office 365 (safe links, safe attachments) and Defender for Endpoint signal feeding our MDR platform. The honest limitation: not every business is ready for the full baseline on day one — legacy applications, external partner workflows, or third-party MFA platforms can each force a phased rollout. We document the gaps in writing rather than pretending they’re not there.

Can you manage our existing tenant, or do you migrate us to a new one?

We manage your tenant in place. There’s no forced migration to a Symsafe-controlled tenant, no shared multi-tenant environment, and no provider lock-in. Your tenant stays yours — billing, partner-of-record, and admin ownership all remain in your name, with us added as delegated administrators under the modern least-privilege model (granular delegated admin privileges, time-boxed, audited). If you ever leave Symsafe, our access is removed and the tenant continues operating without disruption. The honest limitation: where a tenant has accumulated significant configuration debt — fragmented domains, abandoned services, conflicting Conditional Access policies — we may recommend a structured remediation project before we take over day-to-day management, so the baseline is something we can stand behind. That’s quoted separately, not bundled into the monthly fee.
